1980 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II ( GBP 4500 )

$

When the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was released to the public in October 1965 the development departments were displaying the result of work carried out over a period of some ten years. The new series was characterised by surprisingly modern features and through their development, Rolls-Royce broke new ground and away from many sacred design principles. The new models were technically striking in three ways: a monocoque chassis was used, all wheels were sprung independently and four wheel disc brakes now ensured stopping power of the kind expected in a modern car. Under the bonnet, the V8 engine which had been introduced in the Silver Cloud series was employed. In February 1977, the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II was introduced. Outwardly the models were identifiable by bumpers with rubber inserts and edges made from polyurethane. The most notable changes mechanically were to the rack and pinion steering and modifications to the front suspension which markedly improved handling.
This Silver Shadow II was originally registered on 1st January 1980 and the current vendor has been the custodian since 3rd November 1991, some 22 years! Finished in silver with navy trim and contrasting seat piping, the car comes supplied with a good service history; mainly from a recognised specialist, and also the V5 registration document and a full year's MoT test certificate. Rolls-Royce prices have been increasing of late, and this is an ideal opportunity to obtain a Silver Shadow II at an affordable price.

1997 Bentley Turbo R by James Young ( GBP 17000 )

'The Turbo R has something that no other manufacturer can emulate: an unmistakable and deeply ingrained quality. Inside, whether at the wheel or reclining in the rear chairs, the aura is unique. This is a jewel of a motorcar and crafted to stand the test of time.' - Sports Car International.

Introduced at Geneva in 1985, the Turbo R continued the modern 'Blower Bentley' theme but with the added refinement of suspension better suited to the car's increased performance. Outwardly the car differed from the preceding Mulsanne Turbo by virtue of its cast-alloy wheels shod with low-profile Pirelli tyres while inside there was a revised fascia with a 'rev-counter' included amongst the comprehensive instrumentation. In a break with Rolls-Royce tradition, power figures were made public for the first time, revealing that the engine produced 320bhp and a staggering 475lb/ft of torque, which on the road translated into a 0-60mph time of around seven seconds with a top speed of 143mph. Described by Autocar magazine as 'an outrageous concoction of sledgehammer performance and sybaritic luxury', the Turbo R remains as formidable now as when it debuted more than 25 years ago. Few cars were - or are - better suited to fast long-distance touring.

This low mileage James Young Turbo R is finished in Peacock Blue with parchment interior, trimmed in blue piping. The reduced rear window enhances the 'sporty' appearance of this splendid car, as does the bonnet and wing vents; this Bentley also benefits from a panoramic glass roof and a comprehensive service history. The superb condition is certainly commensurate with a car that has travelled little more than 3,000 miles on average per year. Supplied with a V5 registration document and a valid MoT test certificate, a Bentley Turbo R has always been an outstanding car; driving P65 GPB confirms it.

1979 Porsche 911SC to RS Specification ( GBP 34000 )

There is little doubt that the early RS spec'd 911 from the 1970's offered the most pure driving experience. Some enjoyed the spartan interior coupled with a powerful, albeit tail-happy, rear end and the simple yet purposefully designed exterior. Sadly, however, the costs involved in acquiring one of these increasingly rare examples precludes many of us from attaining motoring nirvana and so alternatives are sought. You could, of course, plump for an English version of a two-seater sportscar from that era such as various Ferraris, an Aston Martin V8 or a Mustang - however no-one really offers the sort of bang for your buck that the 911RS does.

Quite naturally, the other route for enthusiasts was to afford Porsche the greatest form of flattery and copy the layout from a pre-existing Stuttgart floorpan. This was, and still is, a hugely popular route to RS ownership and has been done with varying degrees of thoroughness. The vehicle available today is probably one of the most dedicated tributes to this great car and has been undertaken with an almost slavish attention to detail. The vendor himself declared that he spent far more than he planned to in order to achieve the effect detailed here.

The donor vehicle car was originally a 1979 911SC with 90,000 miles recorded and a full service history; certainly a good starting point. During the last 12 months, it has undergone a complete ground-up restoration with the engine and gearbox, glass and interior out. Indeed, it was stripped back to just a shell, rebuilt, stone chip protected and painted the correct Grand Prix white throughout. All components were inspected, refurbished and/or replaced where necessary. The exterior has been backdated using genuine steel wings converted with a lightweight long bonnet, lightweight front and rear RS bumpers and finished with a ducktail in Grand Prix white and Mexico blue decals. It also benefits from a complete full nut and bolt engine rebuild from bare crankcases using genuine parts and finished with a full stainless steel exhaust system. The 915 five speed transmission has been fully stripped, overhauled and rebuilt with new genuine parts (as necessary) along with, as you would expect, a new clutch. The brakes have been completely overhauled with four genuine new period calipers and Goodridge stainless steel brake-lines throughout. The wheels fitted are genuine Fuchs lightweight alloys measuring 8 x 15 for the front and 9 x 15 for the rear.

The interior has been re-trimmed with a lightweight RS carpet set and new RS seats finished off with lightweight door cards and a period Momo Prototipo steering wheel; all works untaken by a fully qualified Porsche dealer trained technician.

The only real difference between this and the real thing is the V5C...

1970 Ford Mustang ( USD 119995 )

Yeah, I'll say it: I think the 1969-70 GT500 is the best-looking Shelby ever built, and with a very unusual color combination, this one is an absolute knock-out. With a matching-numbers 428 Cobra Jet under that vented hood, it also has the cojones to back up its outrageous looks. The Gulfstream Aqua paint on this GT500 is one of the rarest colors offered, and if you go to 10 Shelby meets this year, you probably won't see another one. Combined with the blacked-out hood treatment that emphasizes the NACA (not NASA) ductwork for the Ram Air system, plus the gold side stripes, this is one mean-looking fastback. Treated to an extremely high-quality freshening a few years ago, the Shelby body panels are in excellent condition with no ripples or waves in the fiberglass and fit and finish that are hallmarks of skilled craftsmen at work. Ford didn't go crazy with the Shelby badging, either, leaving just a subtle coiled snake in the deep-set grille, another set on the sail panels, and SHELBY block letters out back, but even so there's no mistaking this beast for anything else. There isn't an incorrect line anywhere on this car, and if any car has ever suggested great speed even while standing still, this is it. The top-of-the-line GT500 got Ford's top interior, the Clarion knit buckets. Of course, being a Shelby, that means several upgrades including a roll bar behind the seats with shoulder harnesses, a center console with its own auxiliary gauges canted towards the driver, and plenty of man-made wood appliques to blur the line between muscle and luxury. This car also carries a very rare Tilt steering column, as well as full instrumentation including a tach. The original AM/FM stereo radio is in the dash, and if you look closely, you'll note that the wooden T-handle for the transmission has its own coiled cobra logo inset into its surface. That's a cool Shelby-esque detail, don't you think? The trunk is also immaculately finished, and now carries a correct reproduction mat and space-saver inflatable spare. Ford's 428 cubic inch Cobra Jet engine was one of the most potent machines on the street, especially in 1970. Grossly under-rated at 335 horsepower, it can spin the tires at will and with enormous torque, the jaunt from, say, 40 to 100 MPH is eyeball-flattening. The Ram Air is fed from the center duct on the hood, and all the factory hardware remains in place on this specimen. The engine is 100% matching numbers, fully documented by photos taken during the June 2012 rebuild, and the detailing is extremely well done. There's proper Ford Blue on the block and beautiful finned aluminum valve covers, all surrounded by a satin black engine bay. The C6 3-speed automatic responds to your right foot's prodding the carburetor, and a set of 3.50 gears with a limited slip make the most of the engine's power. The chassis appears to be highly original save for the new exhaust system, and the original aluminum wheels remain outstanding. Shelbys remain Grade-A investments, and with full documentation and a correct restoration, it should be easy to convince yourself that now is the time to own a big block snake. Call today! 1966 Chevrolet Chevy II ( USD 26995 )

Now THIS is how you do cool. Take one clean 1966 Chevy II wagon, add a 350 cubic inch V8, and fill it with options so it's ready to haul cross-country in comfort. With an awesome stock look, this is the machine that will get more attention than the rod you tow behind it. Stripped to bare metal and rebuilt from there, this car has a very authentic look to it. Whatever rust there was (almost none) was replaced using fresh steel, and the work is invisible under that handsome Mist Blue paint, which is a correct 1966 color. They added a cowl induction hood, which provides a very cool contrast on the square wagon body, but otherwise it is as the factory intended, roof rack and all. All four doors fit quite well, and if you think it's a challenge getting a trunk lid to fit, you should try a tailgate with a roll-down rear window! The original badges were reinstalled, and the list of new stuff includes all the door handles, both front and rear bumpers, and the windshield, while the rest of the glass was given a medium tint just to make it look extra slick. And it works. The all-new interior was restored to factory specs, including both bench seats, door panels, and the carpets, which reproduce the original equipment quite nicely. Somehow the industrial look of the 3-speed shifter sticking out of the transmission tunnel is exactly right on this sleeper, and with a cue ball knob, it has a definite period vibe. The instrument panel houses the aftermarket gauges, which certainly look very OEM, plus a Vintage Air A/C system has been expertly integrated and looks almost factory-installed. There's also a new Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo head unit in the center of the dash, which sounds even better than you'd expect thanks to extensive use of Dynamat throughout the interior and new weather seals on the doors. There's also a 200-watt amplifier hidden in the left rear quarter panel. The cargo bay is downright huge, making this an ideal parts hauler for the next swap meet. Although the decal says 302, that's actually a freshly built 350 dressed to look like something that might have been born there almost fifty years ago. Chevy Orange paint on the block, simple stamped steel valve covers, and a functioning cowl-induction system give it a period look, although the serpentine belt system is from a 1986 Corvette. There's also a new radiator, new power disc brakes from a Chevelle, a fresh clutch ahead of the New Process 3-speed manual gearbox with overdrive, and a great-sounding dual exhaust system. A 10-bolt rear with 3.08 gears means highway cruising is effortless, and a Class III hitch has been neatly hidden behind the rear license plate, so this little wagon can pull your racer in style and comfort. Lowering blocks and spindles give it a mildly aggressive stance, and it sits perfectly on 6- and 7-inch Rallys with 215/70/15 front and 225/70/15 rear BFGoodrich redline radials. A fantastic car all by itself, but few hobby cars are also this practical. Take this one to the next cruise night and watch where the crowds form--wagons are red hot, so call now! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom. For more information, please call (678) 279-1609 or toll free (877) 367-1835.

1967 Ford Mustang ( USD 25995 )

This 1967 Mustang coupe has a nice look, doesn't it? Not some kind of over-done Shelby clone, not finished in some modern color, but rather a tastefully modified coupe that offers an authentic feel with a few small surprises. First of all, someone spent a lot of money getting the body to look as good as it does today. The icy Brittany Blue paint doesn't scream at you, but after you spend a few minutes looking it over, you can see that there were pros at work here. The panel lines are arrow-straight and line up extremely well, a critical factor on these cars in particular, whose C-shaped side moldings leave nowhere for bad gaps to hide. The paint is two-stage urethane with a great shine that shows off a lot of post-paint hand work. Then there are the custom details, especially the blacked-out grille with fog lamps and a painted chin spoiler that kind of stays out of sight and matches the tail panel. The chrome was obviously restored at the same time, because it shines like it's fresh out of the dip tank, and while it's been driven a bit since it was done, it is every bit as nice as it appears in photos. The interior puts a neat spin on the original design, and in the process provides a bright, open driving environment. Custom upholstery reproduces the original textures and patterns, but the blue and white vinyl used looks awesome, especially with the Brittany Blue paint. The original two-tone door panels remain and work well with the new seats, and the blue carpets remain in excellent condition throughout. White-faced Auto Meter Phantom instruments fit into the original gauge pods so neatly that you'd think they were designed for just that purpose. That trick Hurst shifter is fitted to the top of a Tremec 5-speed manual, but with a cue ball shifter looks quite appropriate in a '60s pony car, and the center pod for the radio looks like it was made with the current Alpine AM/FM/CD stereo head unit in mind. The trunk remains a work-in-progress, with lots of Dynamat already in place, and you can see that it isn't hiding any trouble in the floors or quarter panels (which are new). The engine bay is well engineered and ready to play. Ford's 302 was almost an ideal blend of low-end torque and a great willingness to rev, both characteristics that are enhanced by the Edelbrock Air-Gap intake and 4-barrel carburetor. A serpentine belt drive system powers the accessories, including the brand new high-output alternator. An AC compressor hangs on the front of the engine but is still needing to be hooked up. Ceramic-coated long-tube headers dump into a rumbling Flowmaster exhaust system with that oh-so-Mustang soundtrack that you're already familiar with. The aforementioned 5-speed Tremec gearbox provides a steep first gear to pull you out of the hole and a tall overdrive for relaxed cruising, even with 3.70 gears in the 9-inch rear end. New front disc brakes were recently installed, and the glittering chrome Foose wheels with fresh 18-inch rubber actually look pretty darned good on the vintage pony car. A clean car with a lot of well-done work already completed, this Mustang is ready to cruise and enjoy today. Call now! This vehicle is located in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom. For more information, please call (817) 764-8000 or toll free (855) 877-2707.

1969 Ford Mustang ( USD 94995 )

What makes a muscle car valuable? Use this 1969 Shelby GT350 as your guide. Matching numbers, a manual gearbox, lots of options, plus a known, interesting history from new, complete with documentation. You want provenance? This amazing Shelby practically defines the word. Only a handful of cars were built in Grabber Yellow, and I think I like it even more on the sleek, elongated Shelby than I do on the Boss 302, but then again I'm a sucker for yellow cars. The revised nose erases almost all traces of Mustang, which is only really apparent in profile where you get arguably the best-looking fastback ever created. The tail got its own makeover as well, and thanks to the wonders of fiberglass, they could create the new look without a major investment. The restoration is a few years old, but it was done to a very high standard and quite honestly, the fiberglass hood and trunk lid fit a lot better than they did originally. As a lifetime California car (including the first owner who kept it until 1992), it's never needed any replacement sheetmetal, and you won't find a straighter Shelby on this side of the six-figure mark. Inside it offers Ford's handsome bucket seats with red inserts, just to make it look a little racy. Shelby added their usual roll bar and shoulder harnesses, and experts will note that this car carries an ultra-rare Swing-Away tilt steering column. The markings on the gauges are still crisp and sharp, including the two on the center console, just ahead of the shifter for the close-ratio 4-speed. Plenty of faux wood emphasized the Shelby's luxury/touring intentions, and the clock mounted on the passenger's side is a thoughtful touch. The Marti Report says an AM radio was original equipment, but you'll surely appreciate the correct AM/FM stereo unit that lives there now. The trunk is also finished correctly with a nice-fitting mat and a spare tire cover in the same material. Ford didn't make it easy for us to verify matching-numbers today, but this car carries a full set of photographs documenting all the hidden and hard-to-access numbers throughout the chassis. That is the original 351 Ram Air engine, and it snarls and cackles like a true performance car should. It was detailed when the car was restored, but you can hardly blame the owner for wanting to drive it, so it isn't quite up to show standards today. However, that means that it's still up for doing what Shelbys do best, and you shouldn't be afraid to bury the pedal and open all four barrels every chance you get. The car's California history shows most clearly underneath, where it's rust free and highly original, save for the snarky dual exhaust system. 3.25 gears in a Trac-Lok 9-inch are a great compromise between acceleration and cruising comfort, and those pretty alloy wheels were created especially for the '69 Shelbys, with these wearing correct F60-15 Goodyears. This 1966 Ford F100 Custom pickup clearly shows us that even back in the '60s, there were people for whom trucks were more than simple tools. With a comfortable interior, flashy two-tone paint, and no signs of hard labor in its past, this truck is still an inviting driver for the guy who expects more from his trucks than just the basics. The two-tone paint is the first giveaway that this truck was intended to do more than haul stuff for a living. Code LM on the door tag means Wimbledon White over Holly Green, and the refinished surfaces on this truck stay true to the original formula. By 1966, Ford realized that style could help sell trucks as much as towing capacity, so it looks quite stylish today, combining a sleek fleetside bed with dramatic body lines that give it a muscular, competent look. The sheetmetal is extremely straight, particularly on those long bed sides that must have taken a month each to block out. Modern paint technology ensures a brilliant shine, and careful masking makes the line between the two colors crisp and sharp. The Custom upgrade added quite a bit of brightwork, including that big grille and the stainless side trim, and this truck wears fresh chrome on both the front and rear bumpers. The bed might have seen a few trips to Home Depot, but it's solid, rust-free, and includes a removable rubber mat, just in case. Custom trim gave you a few upgrades inside as well, including the comfortable cloth bench seat that was definitely a step up from vinyl. The new seat cover seems to do a pretty good impersonation of the original upholstery, and the light green is inviting, not industrial. Handsome door panels add a splash of style and there' a map pocket on the driver's side. The instrument panel is far flashier than you'd expect in a pickup, including engine-turned inserts and a full complement of gauges with easy-to-read markings. The steering wheel is typical of the period with a delicate horn ring and cool cast-in details, and you should brush up on your shifting for the column-mounted 3-speed transmission. An original AM radio remains in the dash, and a newer rubber mat on the floor, just in case it needs to get back to work. Ford's 352 cubic inch V8 is a great choice in this pickup, offering plenty of power to get the work done and plenty of performance out on the open road. It's been cleaned and recently painted so it looks good, but it's not really intended to be a show piece. The good news is that things like the air cleaner, valve covers, and other components are original, so has a very period-correct look overall. Underneath, the chassis is straight and solid, with only a few recent mud splashes detracting from the extremely clean presentation. A dual exhaust system with glasspack-style mufflers gives it a muscle car sound and there's an indestructible 9-inch rear out back. Newer 235/75/15 whitewall radials proudly wear standard Ford hubcaps that add to the upscale look. Despite millions being built, these are some of the less common trucks. With collectors catching on that old trucks are great fun, this one probably won't last long. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Charlotte showroom.
