Jaguar Type E V12 roadster
Dutch registration - State of origin exceptional - 26,100km only - A very drivable car In the late 1960s, the Jaguar E-Type sales begin to falter. The shock created by its unveiling in 1961 at the Geneva Motor Show is now far behind the competition. Ferrari launched the quicker 275 GTB in the meanwhile and Aston Martin charmed the world with the DB5, while at Jaguar E-Type remained the same. To get noticed again, one needs more powerful arguments. It is under the hood of the new Jaguar that we will find that argument - an engine that is entirely new. It adopts a configuration that only the very noble Ferrari uses regularly - a 12 cylinder engine in V configuration with twin overhead camshafts. Displacing 5.3 liters, this engine is designed for pure power (it develops a very impressive 276bhp nonetheless), but more important is flexibility and tractability, which is what that meets perfectly the tastes of American customers, the most important market in the world then. The E-type V12, known as "Series 3" comes with some new aesthetic changes: a bigger grille, flared fenders that now houses a wider track, among others. This roadster Jaguar E-Type V12 is probably one of the most original in the market today. With a counter showing only 16,200 miles (26,100km), this car has had only two owners and was imported into Holland in 2002 by the second. It is equipped with European bumpers, tinted windows and a radio. Inside, everything is original: the seats, carpet, the top and all are in very good condition. On the outside, the car still has its original coat of paint with typical Jaguar quality, the primer showing in places. The chrome is in excellent condition and the whole car is really in a very rare state of preservation. The mechanicals have been tested and are ready for car's second life in the hands of an enthusiast who will be happy to cruise miles, driving a car that has not been restored or damaged ever. It comes with its user manuals and tools.
