When it was presented to the public in 1961, the convertible DS was twice the price of the saloon, which says a lot about the care given to finish. At the time, its production was entrusted to the Henri Chapron workshops at Levallois, near Paris, which produced its own parallel models. The convertible received the enhancements to the DS series and in 1965 it was available as the DS 21, with a new engine of 2175cc, which developed 109bhp: a mechanical ensemble that offered the height of exceptional road behavior, managing to marry a high level of comfort with faultless handling. Delivered new in the Alpes-Maritimes, this DS cabriolet 21 Million was registered for the first time on 16th of May, 1966 (corresponding to the letter M manual). The current seller is the third owner for the last 17 years, and the car has benefited from a complete restoration in his workshop. The chassis has been exposed, and the rails have been replaced, the body has been restored and repainted in its original colour. The mechanicals have also been given a facelift with repair of the engine and the clutch. The hydraulic system has been redesigned and modified to run on LHM green fuel, which makes the car more reliable with parts that are easier to replace. The car is equipped with a black roof that is in a state that is nearly new. The interior has a Neiman radio and speaker system, available at the time as an option. The counter shows just 35,610km.
