I'll admit it, I love wagons. I mean, how can you not love something that can haul your gear and look this good doing it? And there are no cooler wagons than the Olds Vista Cruiser, with its panoramic roof windows. Better yet, all the same gear that makes cars like the 442 so cool will bolt right on, so calling them muscle wagons is no exaggeration. With just 3000 miles on the restoration, this 1969 Olds is one impressive family car. Go big or go home, that's this wagon's motto. Dressed in bright red with black SS stripes, it makes no secret of its sporting intentions. Forget the old days of wagons meaning dull suburbia, this one will attract a crowd wherever it goes, since both nostalgia-seekers and modern hot rodders know it's something special. The nose is the same as the Cutlass and looks great attached to the sleek Vista Cruiser bodywork that seems to step up in tiers to create a wholly American machine. The paint work is quite good, with the beautiful red finish showing off the big body's curves and emphasizing the muscle car pedigree - even the roof has stripes! A blacked-out grille lends it a bit of aggression, and you'll note how straight the bodywork is, a fact reinforced by the side moldings that are arrow-straight along its flanks. All the glass, including those irreplaceable roof panels, is in great condition, and the bumpers show shiny chrome and no rust or dings. Buckets in a wagon is an unusual sight, but this is no ordinary wagon. Finished in pleated black vinyl, it has a very OEM look, although the custom center console is probably something our parents would have killed for back in the day. The back seat is probably the best seat in the house, with panoramic views that you used to fight your brother over, and there's even a third row for true 7-passenger seating. The original gauges look sporty in the round instrument panel openings, clearly visible through the spokes of a woodgrained steering wheel. Front and rear A/C is probably mandatory with that much glass area and black upholstery, and it's powerful and effective, making this one of the best long-distance cruisers we've ever featured. Some folks might think a massive entertainment system with TV screens is the way to go these days, but the original AM/FM radio in the dash will better help you relive the glory days of interstate vacations. Power is the usual 350 cubic inch Olds Rocket V8, augmented by an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and intake manifold and an electronic ignition system. With only 3000 miles on the build, it looks awesome with traditional Oldsmobile Gold paint on the block, chrome valve covers, and a finned aluminum air cleaner up top. The A/C system uses R134a refrigerant, so it's easy to service, and new equipment includes the power brake booster, alternator, and master cylinder. It's backed by a TH400 3-speed automatic and a heavy-duty 12-bolt rear, all riding on a heavy duty suspension with air shocks. Dual exhaust gives it a great rumble, and the aluminum 5-spoke wheels help it stand out wearing 215/70/15 blackwalls. Fully sorted and ready to enjoy, it's time to relive the past and embrace the future, because wagons are here to stay. Call now! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
