This is an amazing Mustang. One look at the photos will whet your appetite, but when you see the specifications and level of detail that went into the restoration of this Atomic Orange 1969 Mustang coupe, you'll have no choice but to agree that coupes are suddenly red-hot. Refinished in bright Atomic Orange, it will be more difficult to keep a low profile in this car than any Shelby or Mach 1 you're likely to see. Workmanship is quite good, with the crisp lines and straight panels are emphasized, not hidden. The coupes don't get a lot of attention, but between the striking paint color and clean, unadorned lines, it's easy to appreciate this one's appeal. The two-stage urethane's incredible shine shows off the crisply detailed body details like the sharp line that runs from the headlights to the rear quarter vents, and a second one slashing from the rear bumper forward. There's also no place for shoddy workmanship to hide, and you'll find that the gaps are uniform and the finish has been wet sanded and buffed to a brilliant shine. Getting a car to look this good is neither cheap nor easy, but the results are definitely worth the effort. Mustang fans will appreciate the mix of stock and aftermarket components inside, which work together to create an outstanding driving environment. The seats offer fresh seat covers with correct pleats and new-for-1969 headrests, and the rear bench has been upholstered to match. The door panels just might be original, but they've been slightly customized with a body-colored lower edge and built-in speakers for the Alpine AM/FM/CD stereo that's been fitted to the dash. There's also a center console that provides an armrest and additional storage, and it neatly frames the shifter for the C4 3-speed automatic underneath. Factory A/C is always welcome when you climb into a vintage Mustang, but it shouldn't be a surprise here, since this car hails from the sunny, warm south. The thick leather-wrapped steering wheel feels great in your hands and looks right at home in the all-black passenger compartment. Numbers junkies will note that this car carries a correct F-code 302 cubic inch V8, although it's now augmented by a 4-barrel carburetor, with the engine fully rebuilt and detailed less than 3000 miles ago. Although there are a few easy-to-spot upgrades, including the chrome valve covers and air cleaner, most of the equipment is vintage 1969. The block and heads wear correct Ford Blue paint, and the original A/C compressor dominates the engine bay. A big electric fan keeps both you and the car nice and cool, even in traffic, although you'll take very chance you get to nail the throttle and listen to the song that the twin Flowmaster mufflers sing out back. And for a look that you don't see all that often but still works well, 15-inch Cragar chrome wire wheels have been fitted and wear fat 255/60/15 BFGoodrich T/A radials. This is a well-sorted, fast, comfortable cruiser that has an awesome look, a bit of nostalgia, and plenty of comfort. Great taste never goes out of style, and this Mustang is proof. Call today!
