Many Porsche connoisseurs are aware of the famous Porsche 911 2.7 RS. Not everyone knows the 9 prototypes which as prototypes for the 911 2.7 RS were built. These prototypes are rarely offered for sale and if they are for sale than there are astronomically high amounts paid for it. These cars from the prototype series have the 2.7 RS 911/83 motor, S bumpers, no ducktail but RS screens. Technically fully a 2.7 RS, optically they sit between a 911S and a 911 2.7 RS in.
The previous owner of this 911 wanted a trackday car that also is allowed for just road traffic (streetlegal). The great example for this car is a 911 2.7 RS prototype.
As the basis for this project was chosen for an original Dutch delivered Porsche 911 2.4 T with the original color Vipergreen.
When the owner bought the car it was the start of the project. The 911 was in need of a complete restoration. The new owner did a complete body-off restoration and built it exactly as if a 2.7 RS prototype.
Costs nor trouble were spared in this project:
- Original 2.7 RS engine (911/83) with 210 pk;
- 915 gearbox;
- Sport Clutch;
- Body work at Porsche specialist Siemerink;
- Built as a 2.7 RS prototype (so with RS body but obviously without ducktail);
- Revision fuel pump;
- Roll Cage;
- Bodywork completely welded;
- RS instruments;
- RS steering wheel;
- Koni suspension;
- Intercom;
- Rally computer;
- Larger fuel tank;
- RS door panels.
In short, this 911 is indistinguishable from a 911 2.7 RS prototype. In addition, this Porsche same (or probably better) performance. The restoration and conversion is fully documented by means of a lot of photos and a large number of accounts.
The previous owner has unfortunately due to illness sell his beloved Porsche. After completion of the restoration the 911 is not much more used. The circuit has this 911 actually haven't seen! The Porsche is in immaculate condition, has perfect fits and ride with this 911 is a sensation!
Original Dutch delivered 911, original color, Dutch registration.
