1954 Aston Martin
DB2/4 MKI Bertone Spider
CHASSIS # LML/505 - ENGINE # VB6J/91
New York Show Car !!
Bertone of Italy built nine bodies on Aston Martin DB2/4 chassis. This particular one, LML/505, differs in many ways from all others. Outfitted as a road car with bumpers, a foldable top and removable side windows, it is the only de-luxe soyder built. This car also differs as the dash layout, with three gauges in front of the steering wheel, looks of the later model MkIII. Bought new off the 1954 New York Auto stand by Mr. Schwambauer of Wichita, Kansas, he held it for four years then sold it to US Air force Captain C.S. Wallen. Charles Barnett, also an Air force officer, owned the car through the 1970's. He started the restoration, which was finished by Jerry Rogers. Mileage at that time was about 64,000 miles. The car had a few owners after that point one being Carlos Monteverde of the UK. A recent restoration completed in 2004, has returned this car back to its former glory.
