And now for something completely different: A bright purple metallic '39 Ford with a rumble seat, stout small block power and a Corvette IRS out back! It's a true custom from grille to taillights and it's ready to rumble! That's a Gibbons 'glass body you're looking at, finished to show standards and liberally coated in Concord Purple paint. It doesn't just grab your attention-it smacks it senseless! Steel front fenders and a steel hood make for a solid front end. A brash '40 grille up front and Boyds Wheels "Smoothies" are just about all the flash you need on a car this vibrant. Teardrop headlights and taillights (with blue dots, natch) work with a third brake light and an LED license plate light to make sure you're seen at night. There's a subtle pinstripe running down the upper body line and black treads on the running boards. The top is made of high end Haartz cloth. The "cool" feature is the rumble seat-it's just made for parades, trips to get ice cream and causing massive smiles anywhere you go. And, oh yes, it's powered! Open the door and you'll see there's a lot going on in there. Slide in and sit down on resculpted '90 Mustang GT seats, adjust the tilt and grab onto the LeCarra wheel. Gaze across the full complement of VDO gauges in the Wabbits wood dash, then look around and admire the tweed and leather interior. Billet door handles, aluminum pedals, chrome A/C vents and more vie for your attention. The center console holds a Pioneer CD player, power window switches, heater controls and the headlight and wiper switches. Two seats in the front, three in the back, and room for two more on the rumble seat-this thing's a party on wheels! Open the hood to find a well-dressed Chevy 350. It's wearing Edelbrock Elite Series valve covers and a matching air cleaner. A mild cam sets the tone, an Edelbrock carb and Weiand intake handle induction, and Sanderson headers pass on spent fuel. A polished A/C compressor and alternator on billet brackets look great next to the aluminum radiator. Drop underneath to find a Turbo 350 transmission, dual exhausts with turbo mufflers, power brakes, and a whole lot of fabrication! Up front, the car runs a modified '60s Mustang setup with turning duties under the command of a rack and pinion setup. As if that wasn't wild enough, there's an entire C3 Corvette rear suspension out back. That's right-this 'ol buggy has four wheel independent suspension! 3.08 rear gears are perfect for cruising without the drone of an overworked motor. Dual circuit disc brakes are at all corners to shorten stopping distances. Staggered BFGoodrich rubber, 195/60R15 front and 225/70R15 rear, gives the car just the right rake. Check under 50 other '39 Fords and you're not likely to find this suspension combination under any of them! Certainly not for the introverted, this purple bruiser is a GREAT car for local shows or the Hot Rod Power Tour. It's unusual, comfortable, unique and certain to please. Call today!
