A lot of guys like to keep a low profile, so if you like high performance without the flash, perhaps this Tri-Power 1969 Chevelle is the smart choice. Finished in subtle Fathom Green and without any SS stripes or a cowl-induction hood, it makes a compelling case for speaking softly and carrying a big stick. Although the fender tag says it was originally Olympic Gold, you just can't go wrong with Fathom Green on an A-body. No distracting SS stripes, no blacked-out trim, just a fresh paint job that lets the quality do the talking. Chrome and brightwork was reinstalled properly and although not quite finished to show standards, there's no denying this is a very sharp driver. This one also carries correct SS gear, including the grille and badge on the rear valence. Gaps are quite good, and the hood sits flush with the surrounding pieces, which isn't always easy to achieve, suggesting that there's quite a bit of time wrapped up in this one. Checking the cowl tag, you can see why they went with Fathom Green, as the original interior is code 782, Midnight Green. It's obviously been restored, but they kept the original bench seat in place, which is how most of these cars came from the factory. The original gauges have been augmented by a Sun tach on the steering column, along with a pair of auxiliary gauges underneath. New carpets, door panels, seat covers, and even seat belts make it feel like new inside, but there's no mistaking the B&M shifter fitted to the transmission tunnel. The steering wheel is a late-model piece that works well in the vintage Chevelle, and even the original radio is still in the dash. The trunk is quite clean thanks to a lifetime down south, and it carries a matching Rally wheel and a cloth mat. The small block under the hood has been rebuilt with a few extras to deliver a fairly serious punch when you nail the throttle. If you can touch it, it's probably new, and the trio of 2-barrel carburetors up top will draw a crowd everywhere you go. Bright Chevy Orange paint sizzles, and Edelbrock supplied those beautiful finned aluminum valve covers that go with the vintage vibe of the Tri-Power setup. The power steering system is all new, along with all the lines and hoses, including custom fuel lines keeping it all well-fed. A few splashes of chrome like the radiator cradle, alternator and bracket, and water pump neck give you something to look at whenever you pop the hood. Underneath, it's very clean, with a slick-shifting TH350 driving a 10-bolt rear. The exhaust system features long-tube headers and a brand new dual exhaust system with original-style mufflers for a great sound, and factory Rallys wear staggered 215/65/15 front and 255/65/15 rear performance radials. Great Chevelles don't have to be expensive, and this SS is proof. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
