Panhard Dyna Z17 cabriolet Tigre
French title - Very rare Z17 cabriolet - Excellent condition - Attractive and original car "6-seater, 6 litres per 100..." These were the arguments put forward by Panhard for its Dyna, launched in 1954. This car encapsulated the philosophy of the manufacturer, whose keywords were light weight, aerodynamics and efficiency. It was a particularly interesting and original car. Bought some ten years ago by the current owner, this Dyna Z17 cabriolet is in wonderful condition. Meticulously maintained and little used, it displays all the attributes of the " Grand Standing " version, with two-tone red and white livery with polished aluminium trim on the wings. Inside, the separate front " Dynarelax " seats are flawless, as is the rear bench seat, from where you can completely wind down the small rear window. The beige fabric hood folds back and is stored with ease, and the dashboard, in perfect condition, has the rev counter that is correct for this version. The bonnet lifts to reveal the " Tigre " that was available as an option: the modified engine with twin-choke carburettor produce 50 bhp, which is remarkable for a 850 cc engine. It has a top speed of 145 km/h, which in 1959 was the preserve of the grand touring cars. Moreover, it had the same price tag, costing about the same as a DS 19 or a Morgan Plus 4. Just 169 examples of this Z17 cabriolet version were produced, with the total number of Dyna 15 and Z17 cabriolets in the region of 550 examples. This is a particularly rare car, especially with the Tigre engine. Exclusive, rare, technically interesting, fun to drive and with the added bonus of a convertible body, this little known car offers a host of criteria which are a bonus for any collectors' car.
