German registration - Rare version "Prefecture" - State of origin exceptional - Low mileage (38,000km) - Two owners only - No reserve The Citroen DS has accommodated all kinds of customers: a car appreciated for its long distance comfort, the car was also introduced in the "official" circles becoming a popular car with the French ministries, the prefectures and the administration. So much so that the version "Prefecture" was proposed for elected representatives and prefects: one peculiarity being the full black color, including the rear, where the C-pillar usually used to be in grey. The car on offer is a version of this type that we have the pleasure to present. Delivered in August 1966, it has been ten years since the car has been acquired through a French trader specialised in such cars by the current owner who was its first 'private' owner. Since then, the car has received a new coat of paint as well as a remaking of the engine and the hydraulic system, but everything else is in a state of exceptional originality. Thus, the red fabric upholstery looks as if the car has just left the factory. This situation is explained by its low mileage, as the meter displays just 38,000 km, the mileage figure from the outset and by the careful maintenance generally enjoyed by cars reserved for the administration. It has the more powerful version of the 1985cc four-cylinder, introduced in 1965 and manages 90bhp with five bearing crankshaft. Aesthetically, it is still very close to the first version, whose purity of lines with the two round headlamps and the delicious aspect of a slightly outdated detailing. This DS "Préfecture" is a special version, old, having known only two owners and boasts an exceptional original condition: it is particularly rare to find both virtues on the same car.
