Citroën 2 CV découvrable
French registration Engine # 02434737 - In the same family since new - Rare old model - Restored with great care - No reserve "This is not a car, it is a way of life." This is one of many words inspired by the iconic 2CV, the design genius of simplicity which had incomparable success. A true monument to the history of the French automobile, it is deeply embedded in the collective memory of all French men and women. The history of this 2 CV is exceptional: it remained in the same family since it was first purchased! Sold by the Citroen dealer of Senlis (a suburb of Paris) in 1958 to the mother of the current owner, it has been used regularly for a decade before being replaced by a Mini Countryman. And although the Mini was bought to 'replace' the 2CV, the latter was yet retained by the family. Years passed, and in 2009, the son of the owner decided to get the car restored. Completely disassembled, the car was restored from chassis up to the interior, as evidenced by the invoices file that comes with the car. The restoration was carried out with great respect for originality: the mechanicals is in impeccable condition, with a small carburetor heater and pipes, the seats are covered with the famous striped fabric from the period and we can see that the speedometer cable still controls the wipers. The car is accompanied by its maintenance manual and the crank supplied with the jack. Grey with blue top, with relatively new four Michelin X tyres, the car is in very good condition. The car has done just 54,000 km, according to the original owner, and has traveled only a thousand kilometers since its restoration. It is indeed rare to find a 2 CV in such a state, and especially, nearly first hand. Attracting fans will be a natural for such a car.
