Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider
French registration Tipo No. 10123 Engine # AR00536 * 06105 - In superb condition - Attractive and modern - Brilliant mechanicals and robust - no reserve Alfa Romeo had a brilliant engineer who saved the brand and helped it find its way after the war. Orazio Satta is the one who designed the four-cylinder engine that gave Alfa Romeo their character: an all aluminum unit, it featured two overhead camshafts with hemispherical combustion chambers. Lively and flexible, it had excellent strength and provided great driving pleasure to several generations of users. First appearing in the Giulietta, it was available in several engine sizes in the Giulia, as well as in various competition versions, including the famous GTA and TZ. The Pininfarina Spider was launched in 1959 and the mechanicals were mated perfectly to the design, first in the 1300 version and then in the Giulia as a 1600. This Spider was purchased from a dentist in Strasbourg who was the second owner. On this sound basis, starting 2004, the current owner gave the car a good restoration, starting with the mechanicals, specifically the 1600 engine, and then the gearbox and brakes, as evidenced by invoices attached to the file. The body was taken off and painted the same year, while the interior also benefited from careful refurbishment, with the seats in leather and hood restored carefully. This is the last version of the Giulia Spider 1600 of this generation, which had a max speed potential that exceeded 170 km/h. The car is equipped with its hard-top, seat belts and a Becker radio with power antenna. What could be better for a romantic drive to the beach, with the sun's rays glowing on the tranquil waters? But the car can also be transformed into a pocket rocket, great for assaulting Alpine passes with the engine on song. Attractive, sporty and easy to use, this Giulia offers a compromise that is not far from perfection.
