While a glance at our inventory might suggest otherwise, clean Shoebox Chevys are not so easy to find. We get a lot of extremely nice cars at all price points, and this one very nicely balances good looks, modern performance, all at a very reasonable price. Built a few years ago, this two-tone 210 still looks great. As with all the best resto-mods we get, they were smart enough during the build to leave the factory styling alone and instead focus on getting the details right. That means straight sheetmetal that looks good even upon close inspection, neat gaps that suggest someone truly cared about doing it right, and gorgeous paint. The colors aren't from the original 1955 palette, instead offering modern Garnet Red metallic and a color called Vanilla Shake, which is white, but not quite. The result is a very pleasing combination that looks traditional but attracts a lot of attention with modern pigments and metallic. It's held up well, too, with a great shine and evidence of obvious care throughout its life. A sizable chunk of change was invested in the trim, too, with the factory stuff in place and looking great. 1-piece California bumpers, a disappearing power antenna, and correct details like the hood ornament, Chevrolet script, and taillights all add up to a car that looks right at home at the local cruise night. The tan leather interior is a new twist on an old theme. Those comfortable power bucket seats were borrowed from a Toyota Avalon and flank a custom-made center console with a shifter from the same car. An Ididit tilt column was color-matched to the Garnet Red bodywork and topped by a billet wheel wrapped with more matching tan leather. The original instruments are in the factory panel ahead of the driver, along with a pair of auxiliary gauges in the center console. A/C comes compliments of Vintage Air, and with those neatly integrated vents, it looks very OEM as well. No car built to this level is complete without a quality entertainment system, so an AM/FM/CD system was fitted in the original radio's location, with a 12-disc changer in the trunk. And speaking of the trunk, you'll be pleased to find that it has been upholstered to match, complete with a spare tire cover. The engine is a GM crate 350 rated at 300 horsepower, and there's really no reason to mess with success. It's reliable, powerful, and easy to service, not to mention great looking with plenty of chrome dress-up. Linked to a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission and what appears to be the original rear end, it cruises effortlessly and is happy to idle in traffic without complaint. The floors have been professionally replaced, so it's spotless underneath, and things like power steering and disc brakes were fitted at the same time. A custom dual exhaust system sounds great but settles down on the highway, and flashy Torque Thrust wheels let everyone know there's something special under the surface. If you like your Chevys well-built and fully sorted, not to mention beautiful, then this '55 deserves more than a second look. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
