This bright yellow 1970 Chevy Blazer is freshly restored and 100% ready for the beach. Forget hardtops and even windows, this open-air K5 delivers full-sized fun and a bunch of smart modifications to make it easy to enjoy. What better color for your toy truck than bright yellow? It's easy to imagine this rugged truck bounding over sand dunes and through the surf, and you can be the first to do so, since it has only test miles since it was completed. The original square-jawed Blazer styling looks great in the bright color with good gaps and a great shine. Obviously never an off-road beater or a work truck, this sunny SUV offers solid sheetmetal and all its original hardware and badges, all nicely preserved. There is no hardtop, but they were intended to be removed anyway and with the custom interior, you'll likely never need it anyway. Both chrome bumpers are excellent with fresh chrome on their faces, the original grille is in great shape, and the tailgate offers contrasting black lettering proudly spelling out CHEVROLET in six-inch-high letters. From the start, the guys who built this Blazer knew a hardtop just wasn't part of the plan, and they upgraded the interior accordingly. The original buckets have been finished in marine-grade (read: waterproof) materials, with black seats and red piping for a very sporty look. The floors are covered in tough spray-in bed liner material that's also completely weatherproof. The dash, door panels, and inner panels out back have been painted to match the body and require no maintenance or protection, either. The dash still carries all the original gauges, including a center-mounted tachometer that's unusual in the C/K-series trucks. The 3-speed transmission uses a column-mounted shifter, with the 2-speed transfer case's control lever mounted on the floor. There's obviously no A/C, but a heater is a welcome addition for those cool nights on the shore, and surely there are still one or two AM radio stations who play music at night, so you can enjoy the original AM radio. A black bikini top offers modest protection from the elements, but maybe only enough to keep you from getting sunburned your first time out. Freshly rebuilt, the 350 cubic inch V8 and the rest of the chassis are also very nicely detailed, perhaps even too nice to play in the dirt. Nah, what am I saying? You get an upgraded Edelbrock carburetor delivering the fuel and a robust dual exhaust system that sounds awesome when you're barreling along in the open air. Bright Chevy Orange paint sizzles against the yellow bodywork, and most of the the ancillary parts and hardware look factory correct. Power steering and brakes are probably mandatory on a rig this size, and the axles at both ends have been freshened. As I said, the chassis is highly detailed and virtually spotless, showing off both the quality of the restoration and the solid truck this was before the work started. Oversized 235/75/15 Goodyear Wrangler radials have been fitted to painted steel wheels that look right and will last practically forever. This truck has no other purpose other than fun, so if you're looking for a new toy to play with in the sandbox, there aren't many bigger than this. Call today!
