1986 Chevrolet C10 ( USD 12995 )

Sometimes you just want a nice old truck. Not a beater, not someone else's old work truck, but something you can wash on the weekends without feeling like you're wasting your time, a truck that gets nods of approval in the parking lot, a truck that looks and runs great that doesn't cost a fortune. Case in point? This extremely clean 1986 Chevrolet C10 pickup. Finished in unusual and handsome Tangier Orange and Tan, the regular cab/short bed style is the one to own if you're not using it to move building materials. Trim, relatively athletic with the small block V8 under the hood, and arguably the most handsome of the bunch, this C10 is incredibly well preserved for coming up on three decades of life. Thanks to an easy life in the warm, dry southern US, there's absolutely no rust or rot, no signs of body work or previous accident damage, and with a bedliner, the bed is still ready to do some heavy lifting. We're inclined to believe it's factory paint, but on the other hand, it's so bright and shiny that it's hard to be certain. The one thing we can be certain of, however, is that this truck has been expertly maintained and loved all its life. The chrome and stainless are still bright, the glass is clear, and the chrome step bumper adds a sporty look and a lot of functionality. The interior is beautifully preserved, with tan fabric and vinyl on the bench seat and an ocean of matching carpet under foot. In contrast to some of the more basic trucks, the carpet adds a level of luxury that is sorely missing when all you get is a rubber mat. There are also options like A/C, a tilt wheel, cruise control, as well as power windows and locks, so it's obvious that someone had plans for this truck that didn't necessarily involve dirty boots and it feels like the proverbial "Texas limousine" rather than a blue collar workhorse. The dash and gauges are all original, but the factory radio has been replaced by a newer digital AM/FM/cassette stereo head unit that's a big improvement over the original gear. This is a very impressive interior that has clearly been well-maintained and had a reasonable pile of money spent on it already. The great thing about old trucks is that they are perhaps the closest living relatives to the mighty muscle cars. V8 power, rear-wheel drive, and a sturdy suspension all give this truck the feeling that it could haul anything. Looking almost completely stock, the 305 cubic inch V8 runs well, delivering smooth power and torque without a hiccup. Most of the original components are still in place, including the air cleaner, accessories, and even the original stamped steel valve covers. The original exhaust manifolds dump into a replacement catalytic converter, so it's legal just about anywhere, and there's a single Flowmaster muffler just to give the 305 a bit of an edge. Handsome steel wheels with trim rings wear fat 255/70/15 BFGoodrich T/A radials. Take this truck just about anywhere and you will undoubtedly hear, "Nice truck," and get an approving nod. These were handsome machines when new and today are gaining respect as collector's items. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom.
