Vehicle to be offered for Auction sale WITHOUT RESERVE and SOLD to the highest bidder, January 16th-20th, 2013 at Russo and Steele's 13th Annual Scottsdale Arizona Auction. Please contact us for more information. You are looking at what could be finest example of a 2002 Porsche Boxster S in existence. Clad in Speed Yellow, this piece of German Excellence comes from the Bob Artley collection in Connecticut. He was the son of renowned author Dr. William S. "Sterl" Artley, author of the Dick and Jane Children's books. If you remember reading "See Dick Run", you could easily write the next chapter as "See Porsche Go". With only 3,375 ORIGINAL MILES, Museum Quality best describes the very desirable Porsche as it has spent its entire lifetime in a climate controlled facility and shows no signs of visible wear. When Mr. Artley was no longer able to drive due to health, it was sent via closed transport to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where it has lived out the remainder of its life in the good care of his daughter. This vehicle has NEVER SEEN A DROP OF RAIN. All records of importance are in proper order and available for inspection. Specially ordered with the Original Build Sheet as proof, it has a 3.2 Liter Mid-Engine Flat Six mated to a 6-Speed Manual Transmission, making Zero-60 MPH in 5.7 seconds and a Top Speed of 155 MPH. It has a meaty 4-Piston Monobloc Fixed Caliper Front/Rear Braking System coupled to the original 17" Alloy Wheels and still retains the original 205/50 ZR and 255/40 ZR Michelin Pilot Tires. One of the most agile yet forgiving vehicles ever produced of its time, Options include the Sports Package, CD Shelf Center Console and Wheel Caps with Colored Crest. Exclusive Options include Porsche Lettered Black Mats, Rear Center Console and Roll bar painted to match the exterior, Aluminum/Leather Shifter/Brake handle and Yellow Seat Stitching. Final Sticker Price was $56,615. To think that a new 2013 Boxster S could easily set you back $70,000 is mind boggling when you can have a very well kept example like this for a fraction. And while Porsche did make a reasonable number of the 986, most of this era tend to be of high mileage from spirited use. Not this Boxster S.
