C3 Corvettes continue to be an affordable, fun way to join the Corvette hobby. This particular 1975 coupe offers a great color combination, its original L48, and the same swoopy good looks that have made these cars your favorite since you were a kid. You can thank the owner for changing this car from its original code 67 Medium Saddle, which was best referred to as "beige." Instead, it's cloaked in a highly polished coat of Tuxedo Black which perfectly compliments the Medium Saddle leather interior. With the other body-enhancing upgrades that all 1975 Corvettes received, including the one-piece rear bumper, black shows off the dramatic shape as well as any color can. But it's a double-edged sword, as you know, and a color change can be a serious undertaking. Fortunately, the fiberglass was straight, the car had never been wrecked, and it was disassembled for the respray, so there's no beige paint hiding in the nooks and crannies. When the paint dried, the car went back together with all-new emblems, a chrome luggage rack on the rear deck that actually looks quite good, and custom taillight lenses that give it a unique look that's also instantly recognizable. Code 762 stands for Medium Saddle Leather, and the gorgeous interior shows off a combination of beautifully preserved original pieces and fresh stuff that's been recently installed. The seats show almost zero wear and are far too nice to be original, but the rest of the interior shows signs of clean living and great care over the years, so much so that it's hard to determine what's been replaced and what's original. The door panels are excellent, the newer carpets are correct and show no threadbare spots, and even the gauges are crisp and bright. This one is also loaded with features, including factory A/C, power windows, a tilt/telescope wheel, and a newer Kenwood AM/FM/cassette stereo, complete with CORVETTE logo on its face. Better yet, everything works, including the clock, which is a genuine rarity in any old car. The T-tops are, of course, removable and a pair of protective storage bags is included with the car. The original, numbers-matching L48 350 cubic inch V8, which, like all small block Chevy engines, runs superbly. No, in 1975 they weren't making forehead-crushing horsepower, but this one is clean, well-maintained, and thanks to a fresh Flowmaster dual exhaust system, definitely sounds like it means business. Fresh chrome dress-up items compliment the Chevy Orange engine, and it shows signs of routine maintenance and regular use that keeps engines happy and healthy. The A/C has been converted to R134a refrigerant, so maintenance is easy. Corvettes received the heavy-duty TH400 3-speed automatic, and there are 3.36 gears out back so it cruises easily. You'll also note while you're back there that there's a fiberglass composite leaf spring for improved ride and handling, as well as upgraded toe-links. Rolling stock consists of beautiful Rally wheels with spinners and 255/60/15 Uniroyal radials. Some neat documentation includes an owner's manual and a reproduction window sticker. You probably can't get a nicer car than this for the money, and joining the Corvette hobby is something you'll never regret. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom.
