Offered for sale is a beautiful, strong running, numbers matching XK150 Fixed Head Coupe (FHC) finished in ever-stylish and factory correct Old English White over a Red leather interior, a wonderful livery that accentuates the FHC’s incredibly gorgeous lines. The recipient of a sympathetic cosmetic restoration some years ago, the car still retains a high level of originality while presenting fantastically as a cherished weekend driver. The exterior is in excellent condition, marred only by the most minor of imperfections to the paint, none of which were significant enough to appear in any of the pictures. The body is straight and free of dings or dents and all of the chrome and glass is in exceptional original condition. The car rides on its original knock off wire wheels, wrapped in tires with plenty of remaining tread and the car comes complete with a full spare wire wheel and changing tools.

The car’s interior is equally as clean, the red leather seats showing virtually no wear whatsoever and the carpets, interior panels and headliner all in exceptional condition. Everything works, including the gauges, a period-style radio and all of the lights and heat. The car’s undercarriage is completely solid and sound. Unfortunately we weren’t able to get the car up onto a lift to take good undercarriage pictures, but we’ll be doing that early in the week, so please contact us if you want any additional photographs of the car.

XK150s in general are superb drivers cars, arguably the first Jaguar sports car that has some semblance of modern reliability and comfortable ride quality while retaining much of the visceral feel of the earlier cars. This is entirely true of this example, its tried and true 3.4L engine starting effortlessly, idling consistently and pulling stongly and smoothly through each of its gears. Of the dozens of XKs we’ve owned, I’m not sure that we’ve had a tighter and more powerful example – it truly wants to get up and go and won’t disappoint, whether tearing through the canyons, cruising through town or bombing down the highway.

With fully restored or entirely original cars fetching outlandish results on the auction circuit, finding honest examples like this at reasonable prices is becoming harder and harder. If you’ve been looking for the perfect driver that can toured, taken to local events or just enjoyed privately on weekend jaunts, this car checks all of the important boxes: numbers matching, mechanically strong, cosmetically gorgeous and with a solid and unadulterated undercarriage.
