1995 Mercedes-Benz E220 Cabriolet ( GBP 11000 )

Mercedes-Benz introduced the 'E-class' to the market in 1985 with the Cabriolet version available from 1991. The W124 series was designed to last many miles with awards actually presented and received for high mileage versions. Much of the 124's engineering and many of its features were advanced automotive technology incorporating innovations that have since been adopted throughout the industry. It had one of the lowest drag coefficients of any vehicle at the time due to its aerodynamic body which included plastic moulding for the undercarriage to streamline airflow beneath the car reducing fuel consumption and wind noise. It also had a single windscreen wiper with an eccentric mechanism at its base extending the wiper's reach to the top corners of the windscreen.
This immaculate E220 Cabriolet was originally registered on 13th April 1995 to Mr. F. Baker on the Isle of Wight. He and his wife are the only registered keepers of this car although it is believed that Mrs. Baker never actually drove the car. W124 cabriolets come in varying degrees of condition these days and, without doubt, this is one of the finest available. The unmarked silver coachwork is complemented by the equally immaculate navy leather interior and blue hood. Whilst the 31,725 miles is warranted, the service documents have unfortunately been misplaced, although Esplanade Mercedes-Benz on the Isle of Wight are known to have looked after the car. Clearly, this is an example that has been cherished with everything operating as it should, even down to the power folding rear headrest to aid vision when reversing. Supplied with a V5 registration document and a full year's MoT test certificate, this splendid example benefits from the timeless build quality we have all come to expect from the famous Stuttgart car-makers.
