The Ford Galaxie was a full-size car built by the Ford Motor Company from 1959 through to 1974 with the name used in a marketing attempt to appeal to the excitement surrounding the Space Race. In 1962, all full-size Fords wore the Galaxie badge, with '500' and '500/XL denoting the higher series. 1965 saw the introduction of the Galaxie 500/LTD, followed by the Galaxie 500 seven litre in 1966. Only a few hundred 'Cammer' motors were built due to the ban from NASCAR; subsequently most of them found their way into Drag racing. The seven litre, 427ci, single overhead camshaft 'Cammer' engine was supplied with the option of a single four barrel carburettor or twin, four barrel carburettors. This outstanding example is fitted with the latter which produces a mind-blowing 657bhp. No expense has been spared during the restoration of this extraordinary model; disc brakes have been fitted all round as well as a twin plate clutch and a Positrake rear axle-capable of accepting up to 1,000bhp. This Ford Galaxie Coupé not only sounds
