1936 Buick Century Sedan Great America Race Car
Chassis Number: 2976199
The Century model of that year featured the smaller body of a special with a Roadmaster engine and is painted to look like a police car. This Buick is fitted with some special hardware used in the Great American Race like the heated speedometer (for optimal accuracy), roller board for the daily instructions & etc. The Great American Race is actually a time/distance rally where the top speed is 50 mph but accuracy and mechanical dependability are the key factors. This car competed in five coast to coast events (1986 to 1990) and was mechanically refreshed each year. The total mileage is unknown. This Buick has been converted to a 12 volt system, other than the aforementioned, it is totally stock.
