It's quite rare to see a 1968 Chevy pickup truck with a frame-off restoration, but it's rarer still to see one that has been refinished to mostly stock condition. There are tons of custom trucks out there, but not many as honest and factory-appearing as this one, and it is incredibly clean inside and out. The main thing about trucks like this is not to make them too nice. By that I mean it's important to give it a factory look, because these were built in the days before trucks were fashion accessories and still working for a living. As a result, this one has an honest, hardworking, blue collar look, especially with that ultra-clean blue paint job. The standard cab and stepside bed gives it a sporty, agile look without diminishing its ability to get the job done. Straight sheetmetal looks like it's fresh out of the press, and the paint is neither too modern nor too drab, giving this truck an authentic period charm. The bed is beautifully refinished, as is the fashion these days, and it's protected by a snug-fitting tonneau cover that effectively makes it the world's biggest trunk. The matching bright blue bench seat interior is simply smashing in its correctness. With a fresh seat cover, new blue carpets, and beautifully trimmed door panels, it has a showroom fresh look and feel that is a tribute to the quality of the restoration. The original gauges are not only some of the most attractive instruments ever fitted to Chevy of any kind, and they're brightly restored with crisp markings. Other noteworthy upgrades include the wood-rimmed steering and a Sony AM/FM/CD stereo head unit in the dash. There's also a sliding rear window, and if you're a regular reader, you already know how much we like that feature and its draft-free ventilation that has to be one of the highlights of owning a pickup truck. The engine is a rugged and reliable 350 cubic inch small block that has been freshly rebuilt. Wearing a custom mix of matching blue engine enamel, the first impression is that this is a mild custom that was built for show. Things like the Edelbrock intake and carburetor give the small block V8 a little extra kick, and it makes all the right sounds rumbling down the road thanks to a set of Flowmasters underneath. The firewall and inner fenders have been smoothed and painted to match the body, perfectly framing the attractive engine. The transmission is a TH400 3-speed automatic that is also freshly rebuilt. There's no rust, no structural damage, and no signs of previous repairs on the chassis, making this C10 quite a rare find indeed. New shocks, rebuilt brakes, and big 235/75/15 Goodyear Wranglers on factory Rally wheels with spinners give it just the right combination of good looks and OEM practicality. While C10s aren't exactly rare, finding one that isn't lowered, chopped, flamed, or shaved is not as easy as you'd think. This is a great-running truck with no needs that looks ready for another 40 years of fun. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
