Judging by our recent sales, it looks like the T-bucket is back in fashion. The wildest creation on four wheels, these minimalist rods have been a mainstay of the hobby for decades, but it seems that our thirst for all things retro has made this 1923 T-bucket a very hot property indeed. The template for the T-bucket was laid out years ago, and this one sticks to the formula quite faithfully with a minimalist roadster body and a stubby sort-of pickup bed out back. It's fiberglass as so many are, with great finish quality and a remarkably subtle paint scheme that lets the wild design speak for itself. Basic black always works, and with a few added stripes of color, it embraces the "more is more" design philosophy that has guided T-bucket builders from the beginning. There are no doors, no windows, no trunk lid, and no hood, so we won't bother talking about how well it's bolted together, but what it does offer is a great shine and above-average finish quality so that it'll look great for years to come. The two-piece windshield is part of the look, echoing the original Model T look from a century ago. A classic convertible top provides some protection from the elements should worse come to worst, and all the brightwork is nicely finished chrome so there's plenty of shiny stuff to attract attention. Tradition dictated the interior design as well, with a pleated black bench seat that wraps around the bodywork. Matching side panels and a simple yet beautifully finished oak dashboard reinforce the sense of history inside the T-bucket. That dashboard is full of classic-looking Dolphin instruments with a suitably vintage look that almost recalls period Stewart-Warner gauges. A skull knob atop a B&M shifter is another nod to history, but the AM/FM/CD stereo hanging under the dash is thoroughly modern. The driving position is actually fairly comfortable despite the radical steering column angle. Yeah, it's minimalist in there, but everything that does remain is in good condition and shows attention to detail. The engine is a Chevy 350 cubic inch V8, hanging out there for the whole world to see which is the whole point. Finished with handsome finned aluminum valve covers and a matching air cleaner, it's dressed appropriately as part of the design, not merely a powerplant. A big Holley feeds a polished intake, and chrome headers with radical side pipes give you an authentic look and sound. A modern radiator core keeps it cool with the help of an electric cooling fan, so you don't have to worry about traffic on a hot afternoon. The transmission is a TH350 3-speed automatic connected to the rear end by what might be the world's shortest driveshaft. A solid front axle still rides on a buggy spring, while the rear end is managed by ladder bars and a pair of coil-overs. Staggered Torque Thrust wheels wear 175/65/14 front and 29x15R15 rear tires for a traditional big-n-little rake. There's no denying that a T-bucket is about the most fun you can have on four wheels, and at this price, this one surely won't last long at all. Call now!
