Competition vehicle - Only car of this kind - Innovative design - A very original cocktail This is an extraordinary story, literally, a unique adventure and without any hesitation we present you this car, the Lancia Paronzini. It perfectly illustrates the enthusiasm shown by many enthusiasts across Europe, feeling that new manufacturing techniques could open doors for racing, and perhaps eventual glory... In the 1950s, Francesco Paronzini was the head of a corporate body in the mechanical world installed in Varese, in Italy. An avid motorsport fan, he was seduced by the efficiency of new cars with their mid-engined location as proposed by some British manufacturers, such as Cooper, and decided to create one such car on his own. Convinced that the quality of the Lancia V6 was powerful enough, and compact and lightweight, he decided to use this basis around which to design the tubular chassis of his car, with a centrally located rear engine. In July 1958, this car became the Lancia Paronzini, which remained a one-off. The engine was a two liters unit, the type B21 and is equipped with sports camshafts and dual Weber carburetors, developing about 90bhp, 20 more than the original. The front suspension was from an Alfa Romeo, as were the brakes and steering system. Like the architecture of the car, the chassis too was innovative and was built with an abundance of small tubes. The car has been recently restored and is presented in a very good condition. It is shod with a new set of Pirelli Cinturato tyres, the dimensions of which are different for the front and rear. The originality of this car has earned it a full article in the Italian magazine "Quattroruote" and the seller has vintage photos.
