Fiat Multipla 750
Italian title Châssis n° 109138 - Sympathetic original condition - A family collectible - The first minispace ! - No reserve The Fiat 600 was produced between 1955 and 1969 and it was the first popular, affordable car available to the Italian middle classes. It first appeared with a straight four-cylinder water-cooled 633cc engine, followed by a 765cc version that broke the 100 km/h barrier. Numerous variants were developed both by Fiat and some of the inventive coachbuilders on the scene. We can mention, for example, the Marinella, the Jolly and the Riviera that could carry six people with water skis on the roof. The Multipla was developed by Fiat, with the main objective of being able to transport six people. It took many elements from the Fiat 600 such as the running gear and mechanical components, as well as drawing on other models in the range. The engine layout and the removal of the front storage space gave this very small car an unexpectedly roomy interior. It was in fact the first monospace, or minispace (!) in history, and as often happens in Italy, the design of this simple vehicle hit the right note and became a cult car. The example on offer dates from 1960 and is presented in a charmingly original, well-conserved condition. Often used as a taxi, it is rare to find examples of the Multipla that have survived the decades without suffering the ravages of time. With its 750cc engine, it can transport a family in relative comfort and with undisguised pleasure. The odometer reads 32,400 km today, and the car comes with Italian registration documents.
