Ferrari 330 GTC
Italian title Engine n°: 9503 - One owner from 1967 to 1991 - Known history - Ferrari Classiche certificate When production of the 250 GTL " Lusso " ceased at the end of 1964, the car wasn't replaced. The Lusso had been positioned between the 250 GTE 2 2 and the 250 GT SWB "street version". In 1965 there was nothing available between the 330 GT 2 2 and the 275 GTB berlinetta. Ferrari and Pinin Farina believed there was a market for such a model, more agile than the 330 2 2 and smoother and quieter than the 275 GTB. This became the 330 GTC, presented for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in 1966. The front was modelled on the Super America and the rear on the 275 GTS, working together to produce a beautiful car. The 330 GTC body was built by Pininfarina and was finished to a very high standard. This is one of the most enjoyable Ferrari models to drive on the road, with its short wheelbase of 2400mm, the versatility and power of its 4-litre V12 engine and its overall silence. Paul Frère, whose test-drives have become a reference, wrote on 19 November 1966, in " Motor " : " In its handling, the 330 GTC is the most neutral car you could find, and if you push its grip to the limit on a dry road, it's the back which slides gently, in a marvellously controllable manner, and with very little change to the handling in response to variation in acceleration. I much prefer this quiet oversteer to the stubborn understeer of the 330 GT. The GTC also has the advantage over the latter of having better steering with just three turns of the steering wheel from lock to lock. But what impresses me the most about the handling of the car is the sharpness it shows in changing direction, particularly in the esses where it can be driven with as much precision as a modern racing car... " The only thing to add to this quote is that there were less than half the number of these cars built than 365 GTB/4s, making the 330 GTC a highly desirable car that combines the powerful engine of the 330 GT2 2 with the short chassis of the berlinettas of the day. This sublime model was delivered new in 25 February 1967 by Crepaldi, the dealer in Milan. The car stayed with the original owner until 1991 ! It changed hands in 1991, selling to Mr Giorgio Ferretti from Brescia, who obtained the ASI certificate (homologation number 5803). From 2000 to 2003, this Italian beauty was found in Monaco, with the registration F 693, before going back to Italy. More recently, in 2010 and 2011, the car has participated successfully in the Coupes des Alpes. It had a major service and work carried out in 2012 at the Garage Bonini, for the sum of €26,500. The interior is upholstered in stunning sky blue leather in immaculate condition. On lifting the bonnet, the engine bay looks like new, with no trace of oil and unbelievably clean. It is fitted with magnificent Borrani wheels. It has the original chassis and engine numbers, and, a charming detail, the original toolkit and owner's manual are to be sold with the car. It has just passed its inspection for certification by Ferrari with brio. The famous red folder shouldn't be long arriving, either just before or just after the sale - we are dependent on the factory. The 330 GTC is a marvellous car to drive, either for a long-distance trip on the motorway, or a more sporty ride on winding country lanes. This car is a real delight, with its short chassis offering poise and perfect handling.
