Chevrolet Corvette
French registration - THE American sports car - Beautifully restored - Manual gearbox Chevrolet's Corvette was launched with an in-line six-cylinder - the 'Blue Flame' - in 1953. For 1954, the engine remained unchanged, while a V8 finally appeared as an option in 1955, though very few cars were powered by one. From 1956, all Corvettes got the more powerful V8, with the frame remaining the same, while the body was extensively redesigned. Round headlamps framed the characteristic grille that was surrounded like an impressive jaw. On the models built between 1958 and 1960, the famous twin headlamps appeared for the first time. This Corvette on offer has undergone a superb bit of restoration in California by Corvette specialists California Dream. The body of the model year '59 is smoother than that of the previous one, with both the chrome strips at the rear and the false louvres on the bonnet cleaned out. The body is painted in Snowcrest White and the flames in Inca Silver while the interior is in stretched red vinyl as per the original. The body joints have been replaced and both the white vinyl top and the chrome have been redone. It is equipped with a manual three-speed gearbox and a modern radio, which is a copy of the original. A really high quality example indeed!
