Citroën DS 23 berline Pallas
Dutch title - Lavish restoration - Virtually new condition - Top of the range finishing In France in the 1970s, the DS represented the top of the range par excellence. With the 23, Citroën gave the car a 130 bhp engine that was powerful enough to compete with foreign marques, while providing a level of comfort and road handling that was difficult to match. The ultimate version was undoubtedly the Pallas that, as it name indicates, benefitted from special equipment which added a touch of luxury to an already lavishly appointed car. It was identifiable by its exterior finishing and, inside, by high-backed seats. The DS has such a seductive power that some owners are prepared to spend large sums to keep their car as new. This is the case with the car on offer, which has had some €100,000 spent on it by its owner from the Netherlands. Bought in 2008 in the South of France, this DS 23 Pallas still has the original air conditioning, an electric sunroof, a radio and brown leather upholstery with armrests between the front seats and head rests at the back. It is a carburettor version, with a five-speed gearbox. Between 2008 and 2011, the car was completely dismantled and rebuilt in every detail, with the use of original spare parts where possible. This was the case with the four doors, front and rear wings, bonnet and boot lid. The gaskets were changed and all mechanical components rebuilt, as well as the running gear and the air-conditioning. The paintwork is superb and the car is in as-new condition. A file of invoices and photos of the restoration come with the car. This DS 23 is in such amazing condition that the buyer will have the impression, on getting behind the wheel, that it has come directly from a Citroën dealer back in the day..
