Lancia Fulvia série 3 coupé
French title - Superb presentation - Extremely rare in this condition - Agile and enjoyable car When it was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 1965, the Lancia Fulvia coupé's delicate styling was striking. Its light roof on slender pillars and compact outline were not the only characteristics that made it stand out from its contemporaries. Mechanically, the car, derived from the saloon from two years earlier, was not short on innovation. It had the front wheel drive with four-cylinder twin overhead cam V engine that became Lancia's signature. The Fulvia's initial 1.2-litre engine later became 1.3-litres. In spite of a modest engine size, its light weight enabled a performance that could match the best sports cars in its class. Moreover, the car's agility and road handling allowed it to excel in rallying, and the HF versions brought Lancia many victories, including the 1972 Monte Carlo rally driven by Munari-Mannucci. The same year, Lancia was crowned World Rally Champion. This 1.3-litre Fulvia belongs to Jean Boussignac, renowned driver from the 1950s, who is an enthusiast for Italian cars, and Lancia in particular. He bought this Lancia Fulvia in 1993 from Mr Lamoine at the Lancia specialist workshop, Reve, in Bourgogne. Used by the vendor's wife, it had been completely restored. The odometer read 72,000 km and since buying the car, Mr Boussignac has had it maintained carefully with parts from Mr Lamoine. The car had a full service in May 2009, when the windscreen was replaced. In May 2012, it had covered 95,200 km and is offered in superb condition, inside and out, presented in Bordeaux red with beige upholstery. It retains the original toolkit and Lancia manuals. It is rare to come across a Lancia that has been preserved in such wonderful condition.
