It was mechanically the same as the Rolls Royce Silver Shadow saloon, but built by Mulliner Park Ward and therefore benefitting from a higher standard of equipment, including electrically-operated windows, seats and hood. The air conditioning was part of the package. While several hundred examples of the Rolls Royce Corniche were made, production of the Bentley version was limited to less than one hundred. Particularly exclusive, this was a car for the connoisseur. This Bentley Corniche cabriolet was acquired by the current owner at an auction held by Maître Poulain in 1997. Since then, the owner, a serious automobile enthusiast and member of the ACF, has ensured that the car has been maintained to the highest level. This is confirmed by the file of invoices itemising the comprehensive and regular work carried out between 1997 and 2011, by the same workshop: Palissy Automobiles in Puteaux, which became Americo Garage of the same address. Engine tuning, suspension refurbishment (including the rear hydraulic circuit), air conditioning, brakes, wiring, body work accessories, exhaust, air-cooling system. In fact, there is not much that has escaped the attention of the owner. This vigilance has nevertheless not prevented him from using the car! Not only does it offer an enticing level of luxury and sophisticated equipment, but it also provides a marvellous mode of transport. Today, the odometer reads 62,000 km. In metallic grey livery, this cabriolet comes with a marine blue hood lined in beige wool that has been renewed by the upholsterer Antoine before he retired.
