1958 Aston Martin DB Mark III ( USD 259000 )

Aston Martin produced a total of 551 different DB 2/4 MKIIIs (later simply known as the "MK IIIs") beginning in early 1957 and ending in the Summer of 1959. Of these 462 were completed as Coupes and the remaining as Drop-Head Coupes.

This particular MKIII was complete on July 31st, 1958. From the moment sold new until today, each subsequent owner and moment of the car's life is carefully documented. The car has been the subject of a complete frame-up, nut-and-bolt restoration to the highest standards possible. The work took close to five years to complete and was done so without consideration for cost or time to complete!

Work began in earnest in 1998 and was not finally finished until 1993. The car is sold complete with all of the Factory "David Brown / Aston Martin" tools, jack, and driver's handbook. Upon completion the restoration the car took a first in class win in the prestigious 1996 AMOC Concours d'Elegance at Beaulieu! This was followed up by a first in the "Elite" class at Silverstone in 1997 and another "Elite" class win at Cornbury Park at the 1997 Autumn Concours d'Elegance.

Words can not describe the fanatical level of detail and attention this car has been lavished with. The photos are an insult to the car's true beauty and it truly must be seen and driven to fully understand how impossibly perfect this vehicle is.

The Mk III was also the first Aston Martin production car with front disc brakes as standard issue. The standard 3.0 liter straight, twin-cam 6 "DBA-Spec" engine produced 162 bhp. This particular Aston has never seen a wet road or anything but the most gentle miles since the restoration was complete. With its stainless steel exhaust, Boranni wire wheels, coupled with its beautiful green exterior color and grey leather upholstery it is with out a doubt, the finest DB Mk III fixed head coupe likely in existence!
