Do you ever get tired of looking at the same cars over and over? This heavily documented 1967 Chevelle SS might be the antidote. With a subtle but unusual color combination, it will definitely stand out at the local cruise night, but once you pop the hood and show off the big block that lives underneath, you'll have all the attention you can handle. Capri Cream wasn't terribly popular in 1967, and even today it's quite unusual to see a thundering big block Chevelle SS wearing it. Fortunately, the guys restoring this car had their eyes on authenticity and stuck with the original hue, giving it an ultra-straight body that definitely stands out. Light colors mean your gaps have to be pretty good, and there are no disappointments here. The original hood remains in place with its too-cool-for-school faux intakes, and thanks to the wonders of 21st century paint technology, the paint has a fantastic shine. The black vinyl top was recently replaced, and shows the correct grain and expert installation, with no signs of rust or damage underneath. Chrome is excellent, including bumpers that have show-quality plating on them, as well as the beautifully finished SS grille. Proper badges were fitted to the front and rear fenders, but their low-key look makes this big A-body a fantastic sleeper. Scoring a nice contrast to the cream bodywork, the Medium Gold bucket seat interior looks upscale and luxurious in a way that the all-black interiors you usually see just can't match. New seat covers, fresh and correct carpets, and restored door panels all look very 1960s cool, and there's no denying that the '67 Chevelle was a home run for Chevy. The center console frames the chrome 4-speed shifter, and features a built-in clock as part of the package. A digital AM/FM radio has been stuffed into the dash, replacing the original AM unit and delivering superior performance, with speakers nicely hidden throughout the passenger compartment. Even the trunk got a full makeover, with perhaps the best fitting mat we've ever seen and a matching spare tire cover. Nice! The engine is a 1968-coded 396 inch big block, rebuilt to stock 325 horsepower specs. It looks showroom fresh, thanks to correct chrome bits, Chevy Orange engine paint, and careful assembly to replicate the factory techniques. Reproduction hoses and tower hose clamps give it a highly detailed look, while new decals on the air cleaner advertise a burly 325 horsepower. The engine's backed by the original, numbers-matching Muncie 4-speed, and just for fun, there's a set of 3.73 gears in the 12-bolt rear. Interestingly enough, this big block includes power steering for those tight parking lot turns. A Flowmaster exhaust system with X-pipe gives it a robust sound, and you'll note spotless floors that can only come from a warm climate. Correct 15-inch Rally wheels now wear oversized 235/60/15 blackwalls, perfect for the sleeper look. Fully documented with original build sheet, Protect-O-Plate, original manuals, invoices, and a restoration album, this is a Chevelle you can buy with confidence.
