Maroon with Fawn leather, 1 of just 452 H.J Mulliner Saloon TC21/100’s produced, 3.0 litre 6-cylinder engine, 4-speed manaul gearbox, Equipped with twin SU carburettors, Heater, Original Hampshire registration number OOR 353, Chassis 2590 is 8th from the end of production and was originally supplied in Maroon with Gold coach line and Fawn leather to Mr William Edward Harcourt (Viscount Harcourt), Chairman of Morgan Grenfell and Member of Parliament (Economic Minister, British Embassy, Washington D.C and Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund), Mr Harcourt was a also a director of various companies including the Alvis Car Company. This TC21 was driven by Mr Harcourt’s chauffer Mr John Sturney who regularly drove the TC21 to the Alvis Works for servicing etc. Upon Mr Harcourt’s death in 1979 the Alvis was sold to having covered just 37,000 miles to Sir Michael McNair-Wilson politician and a Member of Parliament. According to Sir Michaels widow the Alvis was only used in the summer moths and during winter it was stored in the heated underground garage of the House of Commons. On the death of Sir McNair-Wilson the Alvis had covered just 53,500 miles and in 1993 the Alvis was sold via renowned Alvis specialist Red Triangle to its 3rd owner Mr Paul Crick. In 2003 the Alvis was inherited by Mr Crick’s son Adam at circa 63,100 miles. In 2005 Mr Crick sold the Alvis to Mr Gordon Boyes at circa 64,300 miles, This delightful Alvis is complete with detailed comprehensive history file including original Alvis Three Litre Instruction manual and Spare Parts Catalogue, Alvis Owners Club chassis records etc, Much recent work carried out by Red Triangle.
