There's only one kind of hauling this stunning 1954 Chevy 3100 does these days, and you know what I'm talking about. There's no such thing as an ugly Advance Design pickup, but this one got the full Pro Street treatment which takes the honest, blue-collar pickup to an entirely new level. Since you're not going to be sneaking around with 468 cubic inches of big block under the hood, you may as well go nuts with the paint. Vivid orange paint looks absolutely fantastic on the vintage truck's curvy fenders, and it's one of those paint jobs that will always look fresh, not dated. Subtle flames (or maybe not-so-subtle, it's all relative) wrap around the nose of the truck and have been expertly airbrushed in a combination of green and purple that enhance the street rod look. It's all done in modern urethane paints, too, so maintenance will be a snap, unlike the finicky lacquers of old. Fit and finish are quite good, and even though this truck was built to go fast, they didn't skimp on the assembly, as everything fits together quite well. A flush-mounted tonneau cover looks great, and while the wheel tubs take up most of the room underneath, it's still a useful place to store your gear. The interior is a tasteful combination of an OEM bench wrapped in tan leather and cloth, and the stock dash. New instruments fill the original cavities, housed in slick billet rings that dress up the painted steel dash. A tilt column with a fat Grant GT steering wheel updates the helm, and an AM/FM/CD stereo has been fitted in its own tidy housing underneath the dash. Beautifully crafted custom door panels are a big upgrade over the original flat pieces of cardboard wrapped in a single sheet of vinyl, and power windows weren't even on the options list in 1954 at Chevy truck headquarters. The thing about Pro Street is that you need to go big or go home. As a result, this truck packs a 468 cubic inch Chevy big block that definitely fits the bill. With an Edelbrock high-rise intake and 4-barrel carburetor under that big chrome scoop, it gets plenty of air to feed the hungry motor. Long-tube headers dump into a custom exhaust system with outlets just ahead of the rear tires, so the stereo is thunderous enough to make people hide their children. A '70 Nova donated its front clip, so you get power steering and power brakes for safety, and there's a custom 4-link out back, complete with color-matched wheelie bars. A heavy-duty TH350 3-speed automatic snaps through the gears like a Marine drill team, and was freshly rebuilt 100 miles ago, so it's ready to cruise. The chassis isn't detailed for show, but workmanship is excellent and the way this thing rides and drives is a testament to the fabrication skill that went into the build. Tubs were required in the bed to house those massive 33x22-15 Mickey Thompsons, while up front matching Centerline wheels wear suitably skinny 26x6R15 radials. Fast, loud, and full of attitude, that's Pro Street. Just wait until the guys down at the local cruise night get a load of this! Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
