If you're a fan of GM's K5 sport-ute, you already know finding a super clean one like this 1973 GMC Jimmy is virtually impossible. Most have spent their lives off-roading, pulling trailers, pushing plows, and doing other heavy labor until there's nothing left. But once in a great while, you might get lucky and find just the right one. Well, this is one of those rare opportunities and this is one of those rare trucks. When I talk about nice, I mean this Jimmy is off-the-charts clean. Starting with a rust-free southern body certainly helps, but adding a substantial pile of dollar bills definitely makes things interesting. The fresh Medium Green paint is both unusual and classic on the square-jawed GMC, and offers incredible shine and depth thanks to modern paint technology. You don't have to work in a body shop to see how straight this one is, with crisp relief lines, excellent panel alignment, and a reflection that your wife could use to apply makeup. This one also offers a lot of new bits, including many of the polished stainless moldings and the Aries tubular nerf bars. The removable hardtop has been finished in contrasting white, and the rear window slides into the tailgate effortlessly, a genuine rarity on these trucks. The interior is a clean, fresh place to have some fun in the sun, complete with new tan upholstery on the front buckets and rear bench. The door panels and dash appear to be excellent original pieces, which should tell you something about how well-preserved this truck truly is. Tough spray-in bedliner covers the floor, so it's both impervious to the elements and grippy, perfect for a truck with the ability to go deep into the wilderness like this one can. A lockable center console between the seats offers weatherproof storage and was installed at the same time as the seat covers. Original gauges show bright markings and we believe the 44,963 miles shown are authentic. The cargo bay has been stuffed with a matching full-sized wheel and tire on a custom mounting bracket, and all the seals and weather stripping have been replaced, so the truck seals up well and stays quiet on the highway. The top engine in 1973 was Chevy's venerable 350 cubic inch V8, and this one was fully rebuilt to stock specs then fully detailed. There's Chevy Orange on the block, transmission, and transfer case, a correct air cleaner, and a lot of new parts. Freshly tuned, it starts quickly and idles with a great V8 rumble from the stock-type single exhaust system. The chassis is reinforced with a modest 4-inch lift, and the working parts include a TH350 3-speed automatic and a bulletproof 12-bolt rear axle. It's solid, rust-free, and neatly finished underneath, and obviously hasn't seen any off-roading since the work was completed. And you'll really dig the wheels, which look a lot like over-sized factory Rally's and wear a set of brand-new 35x12.5-15 Cooper off-road radials that look ready to go anywhere. Will you get in the game or sit yet another one out on the sidelines? You've seen how quickly these trucks sell, and this one is a lot nicer than most, yet remains quite affordable.
