This specific Austin Healey is a car which we know for a very long time. Not in the condition as it is now because it has been restored on a very impressive way. Every nut and every bolt has been taken apart and everything has been completely dismantled and restored.
We know this specific Austin Healey because it has been owned for a very long time by a gentlemen who lived in the same village (Ouderkerk aan de Amstel) where I grow up and where our company is nowadays located.
The gentlemen sold the Healey in 1990 to the person where we were able to buy it from.

The Healey was in a nice condition at that time but was looking a bit tired. It was used for almost 40 years and it needed to be freshed up. A more simple restoration was carried out and the result was nice. It had the quality to be invited at the main concours in the Netherlands which is being hold every 2 years.
Everything was ready in time and the Healey had a prominent place at the Austin Healey clubstand.

During the night the tent where the car was in came down because of the storm. The Healey was damaged and although it was already a nice car, the owner wanted to have the restoration on an even higher level.

After receiving a serious amount of money from the insurance company he took the Healey again into parts and did an unbelievable restoration.
The important parts such as the engine, the gearbox, the drive train etc. have been brought away to the main specialists for these parts. Not just a gearbox rebuild company but the company who is specialized in gearboxes from Healeys. This is important because of the overdrive issue with these cars.

The bodywork of this Healey is impressive. The linings of the doors, the bonnet and the boot are superb and we are very happy that we were finally able to buy this car because I tried it myself some years ago, when it was almost finished from the first restoration.

It was approximately 7 or 8 years ago that I had focused onto an Austin Healey. One way or the other, I wanted to drive one although I was studying and was actually not able to afford such a car. With some help from my parents I was able to buy a very nice Austin Healey.
But because of the help of my parents, they were also able to advise me to look for a specific type. My father told me that I should be stupid if I should buy a 4 cylinder Healey. He told me that a real Healey has a 6 cylinder but after my Healey studies I already knew that he was not completely correct. And amongst the engine, I was so impressed by the model of the 100-4.
Anyway, my parents won the battle and I bought a very nice Austin Healey 100-6 BN2. It was a fantastic car in the same color combination as this Healey 100-4.
The sound was excellent but I was still thinking of the 100-4 and there was actually 1 big reason for that. I dreamed of a Healey from which I could let the window go down. The line of the Healey with a low window is in my opinion superb.

A Healey 100-4 has in my opinion everything. It can be a relative comfortable car which can be driven when it is raining with a comfortable soft top. It can be driven open with grandma when the front window is up and it can be really raced around the track with grandpa with the front window down.
In my opinion the Healey 100-4 really has 3 faces and all of them have a specific character.
If you have the Healey in the garage, it is a fantastic car to look at. Take a seat, put on some good music and put the window down. If you look at the lining of the car, then it is amazing that it was possible to build these cars in the fifties.

This specific Healey is newly delivered in the Netherlands. It was send to dealer Stokvis & Zonen in Rotterdam in the Netherlands in 1956.

The car was built in December 1955.
